We prioritize your privacy. Chat Clip only stores bookmark metadata needed to power your saved clips. We do NOT store or transmit your full conversation content unless explicitly clipped by you.
When you save a clip, we collect:
- Title and timestamp of the conversation fragment.
- URL of the original AI platform session.
- Custom tags and organization labels provided by you.
Local Storage vs Cloud Sync
Free Tier
All data remains strictly in your browser's local storage. We have no access to this data, and it is lost if you clear your browser data without a backup.
Pro Tier
Pro users benefit from secure cloud synchronization. Your data is encrypted and synced across devices via our secure infrastructure.

Chat Clip is designed to integrate seamlessly with leading AI platforms. We interact with the following services locally on your device:

We implement industry-standard encryption for Pro users' data in transit and at rest. For Free users, the browser's sandbox provides a secure layer of isolation from other websites and extensions.

We believe in minimal tracking. We only use essential functional cookies to keep you logged in to your Pro account. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell your behavioral data to any third party.
